Western Enthusiasts Club Newsletter No31: Jan-Feb 1985

Following feedback from several members we’ve decided to reproduce the original Western Enthusiasts Club newsletters dated between January 1985 (when Western SMT became Western Scottish) and July 1994 (when Western Scottish was purchased by the Stagecoach group). For many, many years the newsletter provided enthusiasts (myself included) with invaluable information regarding Western’s purchases, allocations, repaints and much, much more.

We’d especially like to acknowledge the extremely hard work carried out by the Western Enthusiasts Club, on a bi-monthly basis, to collect, verify and print such a comprehensive and detailed look at Western Scottish (and later Clydeside Scottish) operations during an age when email and Word processors were very much in their infancy. Many, many thanks to G.W Bain, D.R Mitchell, G.Ward, D.Jenkins and the various Western Enthusiast Club correspondents (myself included) that helped create such a fantastic newsletter.
